April started out in a very positive way for the Mozambicans.
Especially in Maputo due to the visit of Africa’s largest gospel choir “Joyous celebration”, the Mozambican women’s day and the holy week.
Joyous celebration
“Joyous celebration” held a concert, celebrating their 20th anniversary which left everyone vibrating with excitement. Lafontaine Entertainment was organizing this great event that took place at the National Stadium of Zimpeto.
We obviously could not miss such a show broadcasting many very talented Mozambicans. The choir groups Mais Benção and Rejoice, Lázaro Sanpaio, Panguel Chongo, the drummer Stélio Mondlane, the guitarist Dodò, the bassist Nelton Miranda, Alfa Tulane and many more local artists contributed to the “Joyous Celebration’s” show.

The Mozambican Women’s Day
The Mozambican Women’s Day is celebrated on the 7th of April every year. Two female bands of the Music Crossroads Academy actively took part in this national celebration.
The female choir including Euridice Jaque, Júlia Duarte, Mimae and Lizha James, performed on a national TV and charmed the entire Mozambican population with their amazing interpretation of traditional African songs. They also participated in a debate regarding this specific date.
In this context, the Divas were also invited to participate in the television program “This is the Show” on the Mozambican national channel. They performed along with other bands and were able to address their new project called the “Girls Rock Camp”.

Easter
Music Crossroads’ teacher, Nicolau Cauaneque performed with the Mozambican gospel musician Jafete on a show including many gospel artists. This show was broadcasted on Sunday, 16th of April, also known as Resurrection Sunday.

Considering this, we can confidently say that the April month was a festive month for the Mozambicans.
