Music is life, it is a therapy, it rescues values and, last but not least, music is part of the spirit.

Music is used in a way of expressing feelings, making political, economic and social criticism and even a declaration of love. From the moment that the musician transmits information through music, there is a spiritual sense in it, considering that he traveled to his innermost, bringing out the most intimate.

One of the things that make music spiritual are the instruments used to perform it. Among these instruments, in Mozambique, we can find the Mbira, the Timbila, and the voice itself. These are natural instruments that haven’t suffered any modification.

There have been cases of people suffering from emotional disturbance, depression or even physical disorders that had been cured through music.

There are people who’ve had spiritual manifestations by listening to a specific sound, some even come to cry. This is due to the feeling that is transmitted while its execution or perhaps it brings them some memory.

Music goes beyond what we can imagine and it is definitely just not entertainment, it penetrates into the deepest feeling, bringing out what is not visible to the human eye.
