Gayighayi Mathews Mfune

Gayighayi Mathews Mfune is a qualified and experienced Arts and Culture Manager having initiated and accomplished many assignments and held several responsibilities in the field of Arts both at National and International level. Simply, he is an arts manager, researcher, facilitator and trainer, community mobilizer, teacher, producer, consultant and advisor.

Currently, he is the Director of Music Crossroads Malawi, Board Chairman of Musicians Union of Malawi, and Trustee of the Foundation for Arts and Culture and the Implementing Coordinator of the Malawi Folk Song Project. Academically, Gayighayi holds a Bachelor of Education in Humanities Degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Museums and Heritage Studies from University of the Western Cape, University of Cape Town and Robben Island Museum, in South Africa.

Gayighayi has also attended and received several certificates in culture and development, project management, fundraising and curriculum development; Cultural Management and Entrepreneurship, Appreciative Inquiry and Copyright and Intellectual property rights with WIPO. He is currently also managing the YIPMade Vocational Skills Centre, a branch of Music Crossroads Malawi targeting young ex-offenders and people living with albinism.
