On Friday 3rd of July was a great day for the students at Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe, when Adrian Muparutsa facilitated the popular fortnightly Master Class Session. The 30 participating students received valuable advice on entering the music business and making the most of the Professional Certificate Program at the Academy.

The Master Class Session is a platform that brings the masters of the music industry to the classroom. The masters are seasoned, renowned musicians who have wide ranging experience in the music industry.

Adrian draws experience from his musical journey with many great Zimbabwe musicians, and shared with the students how his entrance into University of Cape town in South Africa became the turning point in his career.

He urged the attentive students to keep practicing their music.

“Practice, practice and practice. Determination coupled with this rare and unique opportunity at the Music Crossroads Academy Zimbabwe will definitely assist in setting yourself apart from the rest”, said Adrian.

Students especially enjoyed the improvisation session where they took turns to come on stage and sing while Adrian improvised on the guitar. It was a clear illustration of the power of musical collaboration.

The experienced musician demonstrated how innovation and creative composition made local Zimbabwean musicians unique, with examples like Andy Brown and Oliver Mtukudzi.

MCA  Zimbabwe would like to thank Adrian Muparutsa for the Master Class and all his efforts. The students are looking forward to the next session, which is scheduled for the 24th of July 2015 at the Academy.
