A testament to the work the MCA in Mozambique has sown into the community, to empower young talented musicians through the power of music. The Ghost Note Band was born from a synergy between friends and colleagues during their time studying at the academy. While at the academy these musicians were equipped with musical skills due to the nature of the practical and theoretical aspects of the Core Curriculum, as well as skills and knowledge pertaining to Music Business, Sound Engineering, Instrument Repair and Construction and Cultural Management.
In a very short time, the Ghost Note Band has shown themselves to be a musical force both nationally and internationally. The band successfully organised their first official concert, which received outstanding reviews from the audience and music professionals.
The band recently returned from a tour of Malawi, made possible by being awarded a mobility grant, due to the strength of their application. Currently the band is working on their first official release of a self-composed single.
The band is not only an inspiration to our young musicians at the academy but an example of what can be achieved with talent, hard work, commitment and the power of music.
