The Fusion Africa Festival

was the closing showcase concert of the International Creative Training Campus, which was held in Malawi on 10 of November at Salima Town and on 11 of November at Livingstonia Beach – Salima.

The Creative Training for Youth: Europe – Africa Project has come to an end empowering 160 young people to deliver musical and capacity building training through 2 Creative Training Campuses.

The first Creative Training Campus was hosted by the Music Crossroads Academy in Zimbabwe and the second Creative Training Campus was hosted by the Music Crossroads Academy in Malawi. Both campuses consisted of 3 Capacity Building Workshops, Teacher Training Campus and closing concert.

Bands composed of over 8 countries performed on stage and the participants performed in both, the teacher’s bands from the 3 Academies and in other local bands. Through this cross-cultural event participants and the Academies were able to show to the audience the importance of music education and the preservation of culture and traditional music identity in the region.
