A New Project!

We are excited to announce that with EU cooperationMusic Crossroads will be implementing the 2 year Creative training for youth: Europe – Africa (CTYEA) project.

The project complements the activities of the Music Crossroads Academies and aligns with our endeavours to build capacity for current and future music operators in Southern Africa.

Aiming at promoting the collaboration between youth organizations and organizations in the education and training field, the development of the creative and innovative potential of young people, including entrepreneurial skills, the CTYEA project is thought as a platform that will bring together actors from the education and the training sector, focusing on music and the possibilities of employment it offers.

The training project will empower young musicians, by delivering music and capacity building training to 160 participants, over 2 years (2016-2017), to develop the much needed technical skills, to improve their ability to generate income and improve their livelihood in the creative industry.

The first training campus will be hosted by our Music Crossroads Academy in Zimbabwe and the second by our Music Crossroads Academy in Malawi.

This project aims to:

  •  Train 60 MCA youth workers at 2 training campuses
  •  Deliver 6 intensive workshops on Music Management, Audio Engineering and Instrument Build and Repair to 100 youth workers, musicians and interested young people.
  •  Teach how-to & transcribe 15 songs that will be used as content for the African Real Book.
  •  Develop and upload 20 learning tutorial videos as a resource tool.

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity and are excited to start this new training program with co-funding from the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union.
