with Gert Müller

From the 4th to the 13th of November 2016, the Music Crossroads Academy in Zimbabwe hosted an Audio Engineering Workshop as part of the Creative Training Campus. The Workshop was held in Harare and facilitated by Gert Müller.

This Capacity Building Workshop intended to develop participants understanding of the theoretical, technical and operational aspects of acoustics, electro-acoustics, studio equipment, music production, recording techniques and live sound.

“I always dreamt to have my own studio and to work with young people. After the workshop, I now feel able to record and mix properly.”

Gert Müller along with the participants from Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique, installed a temporary studio where they recorded the song they wrote together for the occasion: Gemozima. The group went through all the production steps: creating, recording, mixing and mastering the song.

“I learned how to use the available resources even though it can be limited like in a home studio.”

Facilitator Gert Müller, highly motivated to equip his students with as much knowledge possible.
