The 4th August 2017,
Music Crossroads Academy Malawi will hold its second graduation ceremony in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe. A ceremony that will be presided over by the president of the Musicians Union of Malawi, Reverend Dr. Chimwemwe Mgango. 20 students, 15 males, and 5 females will be awarded certificates.
Before the ceremony, a luncheon for the students will take place in order to interact with each other, the current students and their teachers. An event meant to celebrate the success achieved by the students.

According to the Head of Pedagogy Mr. Mwalwanda, everything is set for the graduation:
‘This year’s graduation ceremony is unique. We are looking forward to having a big ceremony following by music performances by the current group of students, the Smooth Groovers Band, and many other solo acts. As Music Crossroads Academy, we are happy that after years of hard work nurturing and training the students we can now release them into the industry as professional musicians.’

The Music Crossroads Academy was established in 2013 to provide relevant, affordable and accessible quality music education to young talented musicians in the country. Among the notable musicians in the country who have benefited from the academy’s program are Ernest Ikwanga, Sam M’jura Mkandawire, Jaco Jana and others who had taken music teaching jobs or had performed in different bands.
